When I"m in Rust, the rust workshop keeps randomly start to download even though I'm not subscribed to anything. This has lead to me dying on multiple occasions as my ping suddenly skyrockets to 900+. I have to alt-tab out of the game to manually pause it, but even then it sometimes cant be paused. Literally unplayable. The only aim in Rust is to survive. To do this you will need to overcome struggles such as hunger, thirst and cold. Build a fire. Build a shelter. Kill animals for meat. Protect yourself from other players, and kill them for meat. Create alliances with other players and form a town. Do whatever it takes to survive. Rust is still in active development and optimization is an ongoing process. Here's the good news: This is only temporary. Once enough features are in and more things become finalized, they will put more focus on optimization and this puppy should run smooth as gravy (or something like that).
